A sketch a week

Saturday, October 2, 2010

Let me just start out by saying I haven't forgotten you guys. The main reason I didn't post anything the past few days is because they have been pretty hectic. This past week was full of last minute changes to projects, last minute cramming for tests, and what little free time I had was spent with my girlfriend, and maybe a little bit of Halo (you have to fit stress relief in there somewhere). With all of that I was unable to get back to the library to scan anything. Enough with the excuses. Thursday I was looking around a thrift store and happened upon a typewriter. I have been wanting one for a while now. The only thing was, it was an electric one. I really wanted an old mechanical one. I carried it around while I continued to look. I was over by some shoes when I heard clink clink clink ding! Then a boy said to his sister "It's my turn!" I looked over and they were fighting over the exact thing I was just thinking about, the old mechanical typewriter. I watched and waited until their mother took them away to look at clothes. I rushed over and examined it to make sure there was no major damage. I couldn't see anything that was too bad, a few disconnected keys, a bent striker nothing I couldn't fix. I went ahead and bought it for only 7 dollars! The rest of that night was spent fixing the bent striker and figuring out how it all worked. I've been typing a story on it and I love it!

Now I am working on an animation for one of my classes. 10 seconds with 12 frames per second 120 frames. I will make sure to get a picture or two up sometime this week.

until then,
Kyle
