A sketch a week

I read The Wizard of Oz Marvel comic book today that is illustrated by Skottie Young. I just have to say that he is pretty freakin amazing. If I could draw comics or cartoon characters that is what I would strive for, to be like Skottie Young. Alas, I can not. Instead, I think I will start writing some stories or at least ideas that come into my head through out the day. They might help me come up with more original characters or scenes for drawings.

I haven't scanned a picture for today because it's only 12:36 in the morning so I will make sure to do that later, or I might end up writing a story for you guys that I come up with during the day.

While reading The Wizard of Oz and some of the stories in the article about Craola I realized that both stories approached the story as a child would. Without trying to make everything fit into the way the "real world" works. The characters took things literally and stories were built on thoughts we all have thought about such as toys coming to life, or the stories that cloud animals tell us (the rhino with an octopus body swam through the ocean of clouds as the bear with a tiger head 'Kalidahs from The Wizard of Oz' breathed fire setting the forrest ablaze).

Ps I really like music

So here is a drawing I did after writing this. It's a copy of Skottie Young's Kalidah from The Wizard of Oz, just to do a study of it.
