A sketch a week

I haven't posted in forever and that is just from a general lack of motivation and effort. I recently purchased a screen printing kit and soon I will be posting picks of line drawings that are possibilities to be printed.

Still haven't taken the time to do a seriously good update but here is the final of the previous post and some illustrations for a book I'm designing for class, The Emerald City of Oz. Well the final dog picture wont upload. I'll get it next time.

Just thought I would share the business cards I made.
Front and Back.
I know I'm just a student but if anyone reading this would like me to design something I would love to talk to you about it.

I finally got to go back to the letterpress workshop this week. I got to print my "Don't Panic", which was with smaller metal type, and another that the rest of the group really wanted to print, which was made of larger wooden type.

Also, I am now addicted to drawing these robots.

Sorry about the crappy large phone pics it's all I had.

I apologize. I haven't posted in the past few weeks only because school has started getting busy and I just haven't taken the time to upload anything. So to make up for it, today I have quite a few pictures for you; A few photos from the amazing weekend we had, just before this "blizzard" hit; and a few sketches from my newest sketchbook.

Buffalo River

We wanted to stay a lot longer, but, even though it may have been a perfect night for star gazing, it was also the perfect night for large animals to crash through the woods surrounding us.

I have just started taking a letterpress workshop. It's once a week and for about thirty minutes to an hour, it actually would have been today if it wasn't for the snow day. This is what I did after the first workshop; a blind embossing that reads "Don't Panic".

Just messing around with some simple geometric designs.

And finally, I have become obsessed with Typography. Trying to study it on my own finding interesting type faces and just working on making my own letters that look good.

I know that I haven't uploaded one this week yet I'll get one up tomorrow or Saturday. I also know this isn't a sketch but I like it so I figured I would share it.

I know I have already put pics up of this barn, but it's close to my house and it's pretty interesting. This was taken under an almost full moon f/4 @ 30sec.

I have realized something, I have been slacking on my sketches. Even though I have been doing more sketching, since I've been doing more still lifes/observational sketches I haven't been paying enough attention to proportion, perspective, or anything I've been taught in my drawing classes. I have just been slapping drawings into my sketchbooks. So, for this sketch, I spent a little more time trying to remember what I have learned and using it.

FULL SKETCHBOOK! So here it is! I know you've seen most of these before, but now here they are all together and in order! This was my Sketchbook Project sketchbook, so I have sent it to Boston. From there it will tour the U.S. I'm not sure were it will stop for shows but I'm sure I could find the stops on their website (if you would like to know them let me know in a comment and I'll look them up).
